Conveniently located in the heart of the Cumberland Plateau, Greeter Falls Campground is surrounded by parks, natural areas, small-town destinations, overlooks, trails, and seasonal outdoor recreation.
There are an abundance of state parks and natural areas to explore with hundreds of miles of hiking trails, inspiring vistas and waterfalls. Other outdoor venues include camping, hunting, fishing, 4 wheel off-roading, mountain biking, rock climbing, white water rafting, horseback riding as well as exploring historical, cultural and artistic places of interest. All Trails will provide you with a guide to some of the best hiking trails in the area.
Savage Gulf State Park is our backyard. Greeter Falls Campground is only about a 1/2-mile walk to the western entrance of Savage Gulf, with three nearby waterfalls and a swimming hole close by. Savage Gulf features one of Tennessee’s most scenic wilderness areas, with miles of hiking, remarkable overlooks, waterfalls, historic sites, and peaceful forest trails.
There are over 50 miles of curated trails to explore ranging from easy to strenuous. Again, check All Trails for a guide to one that suits you. More Camping & Glamping Choices: Greeter Falls has grown into a more complete outdoor hospitality campus, with RV sites, furnished cabins, furnished yurts, gazebo glamping sites, and dedicated tent sites. Our current footprint includes 100 total campground sites, including 92 rentable guest sites: 36 RV sites, 26 cabins, 10 furnished yurts, 8 gazebo glamping sites, and 12 tent sites. We also maintain staff and support sites so the campground can operate more smoothly throughout the season.
Recent Site Improvements: We have made major upgrades across the campground, including new and improved fire rings, fire grates, picnic tables, gravel and road work, improved site layouts, upgraded utilities, and expanded common areas. Many RV sites have been upgraded with improved pads and access, and the campground has added blacktop improvements for the RV areas. Several former tent-oriented sites have also been improved into more comfortable lodging and glamping options, including furnished yurts and gazebo glamping sites.
Food, Store & Guest Services
Campground Grill: Open on weekends during the main season, the campground grill offers a convenient selection of lunch and dinner options such as burgers, chicken, corn dogs, fries, yogurt, smoothies, snacks, and assorted drinks. Hours and menu items may vary by weekend and season.
Campground Store – Newly Expanded: Our enlarged campground store carries camping and hiking essentials, sundries, drinks, snacks, firewood, ice, and Greeter Falls Campground items such as T-shirts, koozies, wristbands, stickers, and other guest favorites. Stop by for a free trail map, local information, and help from our campground team.
Firewood and Ice: Firewood and ice are available at the campground store during posted operating hours. Firewood is available by the bundle, and ice is available by the bag. Please check the store for current pricing and availability.
Bathhouses, Restrooms & Outdoor Facilities
Three Bathhouse Areas: Greeter Falls now has three bathhouse areas supporting the campground. The main campus bathhouse in Area C includes men’s and women’s facilities with showers, toilets, heat and air conditioning, and keyed guest access. The Village bathhouse supports Area A & B for our tenting and glamping guests. We are adding a 3rd public bathhouse at our main campus that will support the 20 new cabins that have been or are being built. A fourth bathhouse/laundry facility supports the Area E workamping staff. Guest access may vary by site type, area, and reservation.
Additional Outdoor Facilities: Porta-potties, outdoor showers, and rinse stations are located in convenient areas of the campground, including near the main campus and tent/glamping areas. These facilities are especially helpful for tent campers, hikers returning from the falls, and guests using outdoor recreation areas.
RV Dump Station: Our self-serve RV dump station is available 24/7 for campground guests. It includes dump access, a nearby water spigot, and an electrical receptacle. Please follow posted instructions and check with the office if you need assistance.
Pavilions, Gathering Areas & Music
Three Community Pavilions: The campground now includes three pavilion areas across the campus. These covered spaces give guests a place to gather, eat, relax, wait out a passing rain shower, attend activities, and connect with other campers. Pavilion areas are located in key guest zones, including the main campus, the Village, and Area F.
Community Meeting Area: The main campus gathering area in Area C features a group fire circle, seating, picnic tables, and an outdoor stage area for visiting musicians and performers. Join us on Saturday nights during the season for free marshmallows, community campfires, and family-friendly entertainment.
Saturday Night Music & Seasonal Events: Throughout the camping season, Greeter Falls hosts live music and community events on many Saturday nights. Music, campfires, outdoor games, and shared gathering spaces are part of the Greeter Falls experience. Schedules can vary by weather, season, and performer availability, so check with the camp office or current event postings when you arrive.
Dog Parks, Kid Areas & Outdoor Fun
Three Public Dog Parks: Greeter Falls is a dog-friendly campground with three public dog park areas. The largest dog park is located at the main campus in Area C, with additional public dog park areas in Area B and Area F. These spaces are a rustic, fun place for happy hounds to stretch their legs and meet other campground dogs.
RV Sites with Private Dog Parks: In addition to the three public dog parks, select RV sites include their own private fenced pet area. These individual dog park sites are ideal for guests who want extra convenience when traveling with dogs. Availability varies by site, so look for private dog park details when booking.
Kids Play Areas: Our kid-friendly areas include a ninja obstacle course, swings, hammocks, sandbox areas, picnic tables, open play space, and family gathering spots. The primary kids play area is near the main campus in Area C, with additional play space in the Village area.
Outdoor Recreation: Guests can enjoy community campfires, yard games, trails, outdoor gathering areas, nearby waterfalls, and family-friendly seasonal programming. Planned future additions include a nine-hole basket disc golf course, a bike/nature trail, obstacle course or exercise stations, and additional outdoor games.
Nature Center, Learning & Activities
Large Nature & Learning Center: Our Nature and Learning Center is available to guests and is designed to help families explore the plants, animals, trails, waterfalls, history, and natural features of the Savage Gulf area. The space includes educational materials, books, DVDs, crafts, a large-screen TV and sound bar, nature displays, local information, and activity resources.
Nature and Craft Classes: Greeter Falls offers nature-focused and craft-focused classes and activities during the season. Activities may include art projects, nature education, wildlife and plant discussions, trail information, kids crafts, and group activities connected to the campground and surrounding park areas. Check current postings or ask at the camp store for the latest schedule.
Scheduled Activities: Musical performances, community campfires, art and craft activities, movie or game nights, nature programs, kids activities, and occasional community meals are scheduled throughout the season. Activities vary by weekend, weather, and staffing. Check the camp office, campground store, or current event board for details.
Wi-Fi, Utilities & Campground Infrastructure
Free High-Speed Fiber Wi-Fi Access: The main hub of our 24/7 high-speed network is located in Area C. Mesh Wi-Fi service extends through much of the campground, including major guest areas such as Areas B, D, E, and F. The deluxe cabins in Area F have dedicated access points or nodes to improve guest connectivity. Signal strength can vary by location, weather, device, and tree cover, but we continue to improve coverage as the campground grows.
Expanded Utilities: Greeter Falls has continued to invest in infrastructure, including expanded electrical service, RV pedestals, water service, water spigots, septic systems, roads, pads, parking areas, lighting, and shared support assets. These upgrades help support a broader mix of cabins, yurts, RV sites, gazebo glamping sites, tent camping, and staff-support operations.
Picnic Tables, Fire Rings & Site Comforts: Guest sites have been improved with site-specific amenities such as picnic tables, fire rings, fire grates, improved pads, outdoor lighting in select lodging and glamping areas, and more comfortable site layouts. Amenities vary by site type, so please review the details for your specific campsite, cabin, yurt, RV site, or gazebo glamping site when booking.
Cabins, Yurts, Gazebo Glamping & Site-Specific Amenities
Cabins: Our cabin inventory has expanded significantly, giving guests more lodging choices for a comfortable stay near the falls. Cabin amenities vary by unit and category, but may include heating and air conditioning, beds, seating areas, porch or outdoor space, nearby bathhouse access, Wi-Fi access, fire ring, picnic table, and other guest comforts.
Furnished Yurts: The Village now includes ten furnished yurts (military tents). These 16 x 16 furnished accommodations are designed for guests who want a more comfortable camping experience while still enjoying the outdoors. Yurt amenities include air conditioning and heating, beds, furniture, rugs, shelves, lighting, seating areas, fans and an optional linen package.
Gazebo Glamping Sites: Area A has been improved with eight gazebo glamping sites. These sites add covered outdoor comfort to the tent-camping experience, with seating, lighting, furnishings, and site-specific outdoor features that make a simple camping trip feel more relaxed and comfortable.
Tent Sites: Dedicated tent sites remain an important part of Greeter Falls. Tent camping guests enjoy access to campground amenities, nearby bathhouse or outdoor facilities depending on location, shared recreation spaces, fire rings, picnic tables, and easy access to the Savage Gulf trail system.
RV Sites: Our RV site inventory includes full-hookup and improved RV options across the campground, with upgraded pads, utility access, fire rings, picnic tables, and access to campground amenities. Select RV sites offer additional features such as private fenced dog areas.
